This page is currently under construction. At the moment my studio is undergoing a few changes, I thought you might enjoy seeing the process, as my studio becomes what I’ll love to work in! So….stay tuned!….
A couple updates to our progress…
After moving this chair that I love all over the studio, this is it’s forever home (I think)
I’ve made a little progress on the mural wall. At least my trees are pretty straight and ll the way up the wall!
I’ve been working on this wall a little at a time. It’s my goal to have the whole wall a corkboard wall. I like the messyness of looking at old art, new ideas, old sketches, art by other people etc.
I basically flipped the room so that it’s more efficient.
A couple of horse sketches…
This wall of inspiration is coming along. I have old sketches up to remind me of where I started, I have some of my sons work. Lastly I have a couple pieces one of my favorite artists who does amazing faces, as well. (the beautiful bright colored girl) You can find her work at @raynedropart on IG
Just Molly girl hanging out not using her pillow.
A little tiny progress on the mural, but since I can’t climb any tall ladders yet, this is as far as it’s gone!
The photography process. This is my sweet hubby taking pictures of the latest piece that needs to be transformed into a print. Can’t wait to see how it turns out!
When we were looking for a home to buy, our priorities were to get our kiddo settled in his own apartment space, in our house. This meant we had to look for a certain type of footprint, in order for us to make a multi family home. I wasn’t expecting to find much space for my art studio, so you can imagine how pleasantly surprised I was, when we found this home, that happened to have not only the right footprint, but a lovely art studio space with wonderful lighting! I’ve truly enjoyed having the space. Now that we’re somewhat settled, I’ve begun making the art studio my own. I thought I’d share the process here. As of March 2017, I’m about half way thru to where I would like it, which means I’ll be able to take you along with me on this journey. I hope you enjoy!
We began with this beautiful space.. November 2017
Then I started to move in.
The all important character began to be layered in.
A temporary work space set up.
Molly moved in her things….
Yes Molly, you are cute.
Next I began putting together temporary storage.
Last night when my husband came home I was up on a ladder painting this wall black. He gave me his customary, “Ok you crazy woman, what are you doing now” look. Which I don’t mind at all because it makes me smile to know, that even after 28 years I can still surprise him! lol! Of course, this is just the first step. I’m actually going to paint a mural on this wall, which is even crazy to me, since I know it will hurt my damaged arm, but…..I just couldn’t help myself! I’m going to try to keep it very simple. Also, I moved one of my favorite antique cabinets into this space, purchased a new chair and foot stool, then put a shelf in the window. At this time, this area works well, but I’m going to work in it for awhile before I decide.
There are other things going on in the other side of the studio as well. I will wait to share that process with you for the next time! so stay tuned!……
The latest on the mural wall..
